GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE Wednesday 15th JULY 2020
CQLX combined agents yarded an increase of numbers with 4035 coming to hand, consisting of 2,062 steers, 1,485 heifers, 428 cows, 17 bulls and 43 cows & calves. Cattle were drawn from all local areas with a number of large runs from Marlborough, St Lawrence and Calliope. With all exporters and processors operating, the better finished lines sold to a cheaper trend with the plainer types holding firm. Feeder cattle saw a drop in prices which was mainly due to quality. With several large lines of store cattle on offer there was an increased buyer panel competing. Prices remained firm for both steers and heifers returning to the paddock. The cow and calf market remained firm with another quality line up.
