GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE WEDNESDAY 19th JUNE 2024
This week Gracemere combined agents yarded a total of 2,371 head consisting of 1,416 Steers, 592 Heifers, 322 Cows, 16 Bulls and 25 Cows and Calves. The market as a whole was 10 cents stronger this week with some good quality runs of cattle being sourced from local areas. The steer market was slightly stronger this week. Weaner steers averaged 276c/kg which is 26 cents stronger than the previous week. Feeder steers averaged 247c/kg, a result that is about 10 cents softer than the previous week. The heifer market saw a drastic improvement, averaging 218c/kg overall, which is almost 30 cents better than last week’s result. Weaner heifers averaged 202c/kg & feeder heifers averaged 241c/kg. The cow market softened by 24 cents this week, averaging 176c/kg overall. Cows & calves sold much better this week, averaging $1067/unit.
